Quartz Creek,
lying entirely within Gunnison National Forest, contains some of the most
beautiful mountain land in Colorado. Forests of pine, spruce and aspen
cover over 80% of the property. There are bubbling springs and an icy
mountain stream; spectacular rock formations and mountain vistas everywhere.
Peace, solitude and tranquility are taken for granted here. |
| Most parcels contain 10 acres, with none smaller than 1 acre. So in addition to assuring yourself of lasting privacy and seclusion, you're obtaining your own personal keepsake of Colorado history. |
The
properties
share a network of good roads; however, auto access is practical only
in summer and early fall, due to heavy snow. Telephone and electricity
are only readily available on some tracts.
When you buy property at Quartz Creek, you're buying land whose borders were set by the miners in the late 1800's. Although others now own the mineral rights, and all mining activities were abandoned by 1920 when the ore ran out, there is much to discover on each parcel. Most of the original corners can still be found with mining claim numbers etched into large stones or carved into trees. Small ore holes, remnants of cabins and rusted relics long hidden by time can also be uncovered by the careful searcher. |
