A time to gather for visiting and treats with others who love Pitkin. All are welcome. While not required, all are encouraged to bring a treat to share.
The annual Pitkin Day has activities for all ages from games, walk/run, kids' fishing derby and a lunch. See the individual events on this calendar for more details.
The Alpine Run/Walk kicks-off Pitkin Day with an 8am start time. 2 mile and 5 mile events available. The starting line is across from the Silver Plume. Come early to register.
A Pitkin Day tradition is the kids' fishing contest held at the Kids Fishing Pond just north of Pitkin. Check-in on the south end of the pond. 9:00 - 9:50 am - Kids ages 0-5 and 6-8 9:50 - 10:45 am - Kids ages 9-11 and 12-14
The Free Throw Contest is a favorite tradition of Pitkin Day. Meet at the basketball court by the Newcomb Community Center.
Another Pitkin Day favorite event. A variety of contests and games are offered on the basketball court and the adjacent field. Prizes are awarded for the various age groups at the conclusion of the game time.
Pitkin Day lunch is served up by Pitkin Historical and Community Association (PHCA) volunteers in the Newcomb Community Center. Enter by the State Street door. Donations are appreciated.
The Draffle always offers a huge selection of donated items from local folks and Pitkin and Gunnison businesses. The annual Draffle is a major fundraiser for the Pitkin Historical and Community Association (PHCA). The funds raised go to support the maintenance of the Community Center, Museum and Pavilion. This is your chance to get messy or wet. Bring a partner to compete in these events for prizes. The tosses are run by age groups.
Ice cream is served at the Pavilion right after the Egg and Balloon Tosses are complete.
